FAQs
Who is Ricky?
1
Riccardo is the chef and owner behind Ricky’s Wine Bar, bringing more than two decades of experience in Italian cuisine and fine dining to Williamsburg. Trained in Italy at the prestigious Ferdinando Martini culinary school, he began his career working in hotels and kitchens in his hometown before moving to Washington, DC in 2005.
There, he rose through the ranks at Ristorante Tosca to become Executive Chef, and later worked under globally acclaimed José Andrés at the two-Michelin-starred Minibar by José Andrés as a sous chef, refining his technique and approach to modern cuisine.
Riccardo has also worked in some of DC’s most respected kitchens, including Bresca, Jont, and Annabelle, always driven by a passion for learning and evolving his craft.
At Ricky’s Wine Bar, his philosophy is simple: thoughtful Italian-inspired food, quality ingredients, and a welcoming space—where great food, wine, and people come together.
